Experience
Terry brings special products liability and trial expertise to KFP, as well as a broad background in complex commercial litigation that includes health law, insurance, real estate, contract and intellectual property litigation. Terry is an experienced trial lawyer and has obtained defense jury verdicts in some of the most plaintiff-friendly jurisdictions in the country. He also has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Texas Court of Appeals.
Legal Expertise
Terry joined KFP in 2006 after working for 15 years at a major Chicago law firm. One of his main accomplishments prior to joining KFP was serving as National Counsel for a manufacturer of FDA-regulated latex gloves in over 500 product liability lawsuits pending in various courts across the United States. He also has represented healthcare providers, including hospitals and hospital systems.
At KFP, Terry maintains a commercial litigation practice, which includes insurance coverage litigation and arbitration. He also advises clients on numerous insurance coverage issues relating to professional liability, including errors and omissions, directors and officers, and lawyers professional liability, mass tort and health law claims. His real estate litigation experience includes construction, mechanics’ liens, landlord/tenant and eminent domain proceedings. His intellectual property experience includes trade secret, patent infringement and trademark infringement litigation. Terry is admitted to practice law in all state courts in Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, where he is a member of the Trial Bar. He also is admitted to practice before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Seventh Circuits.
Education and Professional Organizations
Terry received his Juris Doctor, cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago in 1991, where he was a member of the Law Review and the Moot Court Team. Terry graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Terry is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Circle of Advocates, a group of dedicated alumni and friends of Loyola Law School who specialize in trial practice.

Personal
Terry resides in the western suburbs with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys golf, running and coaching youth softball.
