Experience Highlights
Peggy brings twenty years’ worth of experience in the insurance and commercial dispute fields. With a concentration in complex and novel risk and loss control issues, Peggy has a broad range of skills and experience in advising clients to keep pace with a fast-changing commercial landscape. Peggy represents technology/media clients and insurers, property and casualty insurers and reinsurers and self-insured entities. She has advised clients through the full range of risk and loss control issues: from the trial and appellate environment; to commercial negotiations and alternative dispute resolution settings; to the examination of claims and loss processing controls on an organizational level.
Legal Expertise
Before joining KFP, Peggy was associated with a well established international law firm. Her practice primarily focused on technology/media professional liability issues and reinsurance dispute and risk analysis. Previously, as a Manager in the Claims Consulting Group of Ernst & Young’s Actuarial Practice, Peggy worked for Fortune 500 Companies, self-insured, insurer and reinsurer clients. Early in her career, while associated with a prominent national insurance law firm, she defended clients in premises and product liability matters; litigated large, complex insurance coverage and reinsurance coverage disputes; and, represented international reinsurers in response to asbestos, pollution and health hazard loss matters.
Education and Achievements
Peggy is the co-author of Reinsurance Claims (Reactions Publishing, 2004). Peggy has appeared in Best’s Review and Lawyers USA regarding technology liability matters. She has participated in several conference/seminar panel discussions, including those sponsored by PLUS, HRH Willis and American Conference Institute. She regularly provides commercial and legal updates on technology and insurance coverage matters.
Peggy is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
Peggy graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Economics) in 1983. She received her J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law in 1986. Peggy is admitted to practice in Illinois, New York and California.
